Call Dr. Patel's office if:

  • Temperature over 101°F (38.3°C), or shaking chills
  • Redness, warmth or drainage from the incision that is getting worse
  • The incision opens or bleeds through the dressing
  • New pain, swelling or tenderness in the calf
  • Knee pain or swelling that keeps getting worse instead of better
  • New numbness or tingling in the foot, or toes that look pale or blue
  • Suddenly not able to bend the knee or put weight on the leg
  • A fall, even if you feel fine afterward
